Thank you for understanding. However, I am posting before I go home today so that I know the Spelling words are up for the planner!

Happy Sunday Afternoon!
My apologies for such a late post! Luckily, our weekend is a bit longer as tomorrow is "Report Card Writing Day," meaning no school for intermediate students.
Since this is a very short week for us (Friday is an NID), there will be no Spelling words this week. I will expect students to read for 15 minutes without logging it. Unfortunately, there have been quite a few students not submitting their Spelling sheets/Reading logs on Friday. This is considered homework and is part of our Work Habits outcome for Term 1. Class Do Jo points were given out for those who handed theirs in.
This week, we will be selecting an animal that lives in the habitat of our diorama (sub-boreal, desert, temperate rain forest) to research. We will be looking for its body and behavior adaptations. Once we have collected our facts, we will draw a labeled diagram of our animal. Our labels must be written in full sentences and tell how the structure/body part helps the animal survive in its habitat (and what they use it for). Every animal is tailored to fit in their environment and every part of its body is useful for something.
Students can then add a model or picture of this animal in their diorama. This assignment is due on MONDAY.
If you'd like to begin at home, you can start researching the types of animals that live in your habitat.
Sub Boreal -- moose, beavers, bears, foxes, deer, squirrel
Temperate - grizzly bears, salmon, moose, cougars
Desert - insects, mice, snakes
See you on Tuesday!!!

Here They Are! New Spelling Words!
Everyone did a great job presenting the "Flanders Field" poem at our Remembrance Day assembly on Friday. I was so pleased with our performance and how we all memorized the entire poem and we all remembered where to pause! Kudos to everyone! Thank you very much to Connor, Mikayla, Alessia and Emma for introducing our poem in front of the school! That took a tremendous amount of courage and you did fantastic!
